archer duplex

gold coast, QUEENSLAND

Early concepts for a dual-occupancy development on the Gold Coast.

This proposal explores a pair of semi-detached family homes designed to balance a confident street presence with a high level of privacy and liveability. The built form of the duplex is carefully layered and articulated to respond to the suburban streetscape, creating visual interest while maintaining a considered scale appropriate to its setting.

Both dwellings are unified by a refined and timeless material palette, selected to age gracefully and reinforce a sense of permanence and quality. Subtle variations in detailing, proportions and façade articulation allow each home to retain its own identity, avoiding repetition while still reading as a cohesive pair.

Internally, the homes are planned around generous, light-filled living spaces with strong connections to private outdoor areas. The layout prioritises family living, flexibility and long-term comfort, with clear separation between public and private zones to support everyday use. Thoughtful setbacks, screening and orientation enhance privacy between the dwellings and to neighbouring properties.

Throughout the design, careful attention has been given to detailing, proportion and material transitions, reinforcing a consistent architectural language across the project. The result is a calm, well-resolved dual-occupancy concept that aims to contribute positively to the street while delivering comfortable, enduring homes suited to contemporary family living.
