This coastal contemporary home in Agnes Water, central Queensland, has been crafted for a large family of six in a bushland setting with close proximity to the beach. The material palette and colour scheme enables the house to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, while the form is tailored to the sub-tropical and sometimes harsh climate. Large overhangs, careful consideration of orientation along with central courtyards ensure that the home remains pleasant throughout the year without the need for excessive use of air-conditioning. Expansive openings also facilitate seamless indoor-outdoor living, maintaining a strong connection to the outdoor entertaining spaces and the expansive bushland beyond.
